Sage Cognitive is focused on the assessment of cognition and its impact on behaviour. Cognition refers to the mental processes that take place in our brains such as attention, perception, thinking, language, learning, memory and executive functioning, which work together to allow us to function as healthy human beings, educating the choices that we make. Sage Cognitive focusses on assessment services related to cognition, education, and neurodivergence.
Sage Cognitive offers general neuropsychological assessment services, (assessment services related to illness or injury) (e.g., traumatic brain injury, query dementia), as well as specialised educational assessment services, which also explore learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. All these services are provided for individuals of any age.
Neurodiversity is the concept that there are different ways that people's brains process information and thereafter educate behaviour. The assessment of neurodiversity seeks to better understand these differences in human cognition to illustrate this diversity and advocate for support as required. Sage Cognitive provides assessment for those questioning the relevance of neurodivergent brain types for themselves or their children, such as Autism and ADHD. Sage acknowledges the unique presentation from one individual to the next in the exploration around neurodivergence .
